REFRESH AND RELAX
TARGETED TREATMENTS FOR EXPRESSION LINES + MUSCLE TENSION
At Selah, injectable wrinkle-relaxing treatments, commonly known as Botox or “tox,” are used to soften expression lines while preserving natural movement. These neuromodulator treatments are customized to your facial anatomy, muscle movement, and individual goals, whether you’re looking to smooth existing lines, soften areas of tension, or maintain a refreshed appearance over time. The goal is never to change your face, but to create a rested, natural-looking result that still feels entirely like you.
Before Your Appointment
Medical Clearance
Before treatment, all clients must complete a medical evaluation to review health history and confirm that treatment is appropriate. At Selah, medical clearance is renewed annually and should be updated with any significant changes to your health, medications, or medical history. A current clearance must be on file before treatment.
Healthy + Bare Skin
Please arrive with clean, makeup-free skin and no active irritation in the treatment area. If you have an active infection, rash, irritation, open skin, or are feeling acutely unwell, please contact Selah before your appointment. Treatment may need to be rescheduled to ensure it can be performed safely.
Plan Ahead
Mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or bruising can occur after treatment. If you have an important event, photos, or travel coming up, plan your appointment with enough time for temporary side effects to resolve and your results to settle. When possible, avoid scheduling treatment immediately before a special occasion.
At Your Appointment

No two faces move, age, or express themselves in exactly the same way. Every treatment begins with a conversation about your concerns, goals, and preferences, followed by a careful assessment of your facial anatomy and movement. Together, we’ll create a treatment plan designed to refresh and soften while still looking like you.
-
Your treatment should feel considered from beginning to end. Injections are performed with precise placement and a conservative approach, with your comfort, natural expression, and overall facial balance in mind. Treatment is typically quick, with little to no pain and minimal downtime.
-
Treatment gradually softens expression lines by relaxing targeted muscles. You may begin noticing changes within several days, with results continuing to settle over the following two weeks. Results typically last around three to four months, depending on the treatment area and how your body responds.
-
Selah uses only authentic, FDA-approved neuromodulator products, commonly known as Botox or botulinum toxins, obtained through trusted, authorized sources. Products are handled, stored, and administered according to appropriate clinical standards, with safety and thoughtful treatment planning at the center of every visit.

DAO / Corners of the Mouth – Helps soften the downward pull at the corners of the mouth
Masseter – Relaxes the jaw muscles and may create a softer lower-face contour
Platysmal Bands / Lower Face – Can soften prominent neck bands and downward pull along the jawline
Trapezius – May reduce the appearance of prominent upper trapezius muscles and create a softer shoulder-to-neck contour
After Your Appointment
The First 4 Hours
Hands Off
Avoid rubbing, massaging, or applying firm pressure to treated areas for the rest of the day.
Stay Upright
Remain upright for 4-6 hours after treatment. Keep your head up. Do not lie down, nap or recline.
Move Your Face Normally
You can talk, smile and make normal facial expressions. You do not need to over exercise your muscles.
Expect a Little Redness or Swelling
Small bumps, redness, tenderness, or mild bruising at injection sites can happen and typically improve quickly.
The First 24 Hours
Avoid Strenuous Activity and Heat
Avoid vigorous exercise, hot yoga, saunas, steam rooms, and other high-heat activities until the following day.
Avoid Alcohol
Avoid drinking alcohol for 24 hours because it can thin your blood and worsen bruising.
Be Gentle with Skincare
Wash your face gently with lukewarm water and a mild cleanser. Avoid scrubbing, exfoliating, or using harsh products on the treated areas.
Hold Off on Makeup
Avoid applying makeup directly over the injection sites for the first few hours to reduce the risk of irritation or introducing bacteria. If your skin is especially sensitive, consider waiting until the following day.
Give Your Results Time to Settle
You may begin noticing changes within a few days, but allow up to 14 days for your full result. Contact Selah if you have questions, unexpected symptoms, or concerns about your treatment.

Your Questions, Answered
-
If you’re looking to soften expression lines while still maintaining natural movement, this treatment may be a good fit. During your consultation, we’ll review your medical history, facial anatomy, and goals to make sure treatment is both safe and appropriate for you. Treatment is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding and may not be suitable for those with certain neuromuscular conditions.
-
Neuromodulators such as Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, Jeuveau®, and Daxxify® all work by temporarily reducing targeted muscle activity, but they differ in formulation, dosing, onset, and duration.
There isn’t one product that is best for everyone. The right choice depends on your treatment goals, anatomy, previous experience, and how your body responds. If more than one option is available at Selah, we’ll talk through the differences and choose the product that makes the most sense for you.
-
While injections are commonly used to soften expression lines, they can also be used strategically in other areas of the face and neck. Depending on your anatomy and goals, treatment may help soften a gummy smile, reduce chin dimpling, relax the masseter muscles, soften downward pull around the mouth, or refine the appearance of the jawline and neck.
Every treatment at Selah is individualized, with placement and dosing based on your facial anatomy, movement, and desired outcome.

The goal is not to change the way you look, but to soften expression lines and areas of tension that may leave you looking more tired or tense than you feel. At Selah, treatment is approached conservatively and tailored to your facial anatomy, natural movement, and individual goals, so you can still smile, laugh, and look like yourself.
Think refreshed, not frozen. The intention is for people to notice that you look rested and well, not that you’ve “had something done.”

These treatments require very little downtime, and most clients can return to their normal day right away. You may notice temporary redness, tenderness, small bumps, or occasional bruising at the injection sites, which typically improve quickly.
For the remainder of the day, avoid rubbing or applying significant pressure to the treated areas, and hold off on strenuous exercise, hot yoga, saunas, or other high-heat activities until the following day. You’ll receive clear aftercare instructions at your appointment so you know what to expect and how to care for the treated areas.

Nothing sudden happens if you decide to take a break. As the effects of treatment gradually wear off, muscle movement returns and expression lines may slowly become more noticeable again.
Your face will not suddenly age faster or look worse because you stopped treatment. You’ll simply return to your natural baseline and aging process over time. Treatments can be continued, spaced out, or paused depending on your goals and preferences.
